Thrifty Thursday Linky Rules
What is Thrifty Thursday?
Thrifty Thursday is a place to find and/or share educational activities for children that are free or nearly free.
Why I started Thrifty Thursday:
As a parent, I am always looking for great activities to do with my kids that are free or very low cost. In addition, as a speech pathologist, I am also always looking for activities that I can do with my students that are free or close to it because as most everyone knows, there isn’t a whole lot of extra money in education. So many activities that I have seen around other blogs can be adapted and used for so many different types of lessons. So if you are any kind of “educator” that is a parent, a homeschool parent, a preschool or elementary teacher or a speech pathologist- I think you will really enjoy the Thrifty Thursday Linky Party.
Thrifty Thursday Rules:
- Link up a fun, kid centered learning activity (for ANY age birth through teen). Please be sure to link up to your actual post, and not your homepage.
- In this Linky Party, all linked posts will need to be about child centered activities that are free or virtually free. This means, the activity linked must provide a free printable or have a link to a free printable (either your own or someone else’s) OR the activity linked must use materials that are commonly found in the home or school environment (like paper, crayons, glue, paint, or any recycled materials like cardboard boxes, mason jars, milk cartons, egg cartons, etc), making it basically free to do (and green!) The activities can also be simple cooking activities using ingredients you typically have around the house, or may buy in season (like candy canes in December, for example). They can also be designed to go along with a book, even though the book itself is not free (but it can be if you get it at your local library!) So, pretty much any fun activity that would cost little to nothing to do at home!
- When you link up, please be sure to place my Thrifty Thursday button or a link back to my site somewhere on your site (in your sidebar, in a linky party page, or in the body of the individual post, for example). You can find it in my sidebar. This will help spread the word about the Thrifty Thursday and hopefully encourage other people to link up their awesome and free ideas too!
- Every week I will feature some of the top clicked links and my personal favorites. (So, by linking up, you are granting me permission to use one picture from your post in the feature and to link to you). This is a great way for other people to learn about your great ideas and blog!
- Please be sure to check out a few of the other linky submissions and leave them a comment letting them know you liked their activities and how your found them
- I would really appreciate if you would become a follower of my blog (Google Friend Connect is fine, but you can also do Facebook, Twitter, or Email..or go crazy and follow us in a couple different ways!), and I will follow you back. Leave me a comment letting me know you are a new follower and I will head over to your blog and check it out! I LOVE checking out new blogs and reading about all the cool things we all do with our kiddos!
What if I don’t have a blog? If you don’t blog, no worries! Come by each week and check out the awesome activities that others share, and leave a comment! I would appreciate if you would follow my blog in some way (by email, Facebook, Twitter). Have something you would like to share on my blog? I’d love to have you as a guest poster! Send me an email Katie@playingwithwords365.com.
