What You Can Expect From Speech Therapy {A Guide for Parents}

What you can expect from speech therapy IMAGE

Welcome to my series What You Can Expect From Speech Therapy {A Guide for Parents}.

Being a parent is one of the hardest jobs in the world. You are given this amazing little human to feed, clothe, change and teach. You love this child in ways you never could have imagined and you will do all you can to help them grow.

When you learn your child may be struggling in some areas of development, it can be a stressful and confusing time. The world of “special needs” and “special education” and the different therapies all have their own lingo and can hard to navigate, especially in the beginning.

As a mother to a child with a health condition, I can relate to the feelings of confusion, anxiety, frustration and that need to learn as much as you can to help your child. The unknown is such a scary place to visit. With that in mind, I wrote this series of posts to help explain what you can expect from speech therapy as you begin your journey. I hope you find these posts helpful. Please comment or email me with any questions, concerns or comments!
