A New Fight

December 6, 2019 by Katie Filed Under: Family Life 6 Comments

Wow- it has been SO LONG since I have updated here.

I think I updated a while back that I became an unexpected homeschooler in the spring of 2017. This was about 6 months after I gave birth to our SURPRISE 4th baby the October before.

Needless to say- it’s been a VERY busy couple of years in the Yeh Family.

2018 was probably one of the BEST years ever- where we did a lot of traveling and just spent so much great quality time together.

But then…2019 hit. And it hit HARD. It has been the MOST challenging and painful year for all of us.

And THEN…on November 11th just as things were starting to look up- I was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer.

I had my first chemo treatment yesterday- and am currently feeling pretty well- but it occurred to me that I wanted to let my PWW family know what was going on with me and this little place I called home for many years.

Don’t worry- the blog here will stay here- but I won’t have a lot of time to devote to it for a long time. However- if you’re interested in following our family’s journey- through cancer and beyond- feel free to check out (and subscribe if you’d like!) the blog I’ve just started.

HERE: http://www.embracingallofit.com

if you click click the BLOG section- you can read all the current posts which explain the story of how I found my cancer and how we are treating it.

Thank you to each and every one of you who have supported my blog here over the last several years. I appreciate you all more than you know!

Here I am yesterday getting my first chemo!

I wish you all the happiest of Holidays this season- and wish you all a happy and HEALTHY 2010!

With love, Katie

Dearest Katie, I have been following you for years and although I am sorry to hear this news, I am confident that this next year will be a year of breakthrough for you. I have also been navigating uncharted waters with my health. Praying for vibrant, radiant health for us all in this upcoming year. God bless!

Katie, I can’t believe it has been over 8 years since we met at Donlon and now you have 4 children and a mountain to climb. Several teachers I know have had to fight breast cancer in the last 4 years with good success. I will pray for you and your family… Wishing you health in the new year.. Kacy Routh, SLP.

Katie, just wanted to send you good wishes in the year ahead. I’m sorry you are going through this. My neighbor was also diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer about 15 months ago. She just finished her last treatment and told me yesterday that her prognosis is so good. I wish the same for you.

Feeling really bad for you. But I know you will fight this situation really strongly. And you will be back as soon as possible. And I am stunned with your dedication to your blog life & your family. Have a speedy recovery! Hope you feel better soon.
