Three Dogs, Two Cats, Two Preschoolers, One Baby, Autoimmune Diseases, Preschool, Food Allergies, & a Partridge in a Pear Tree…

September 28, 2013 by Katie Filed Under: Blogging, Family Life 3 Comments

It’s been a while…I know. This whole mom-of-three thing has been keeping me busy. I have so many things I want to share with you, yet life has been crazy and hasn’t let me had time to do any blogging.

But I hope to slowly get back into it here soon! In fact, I actually wrote a blog post the other day.

It’s about my daughter and her juvenile arthritis. Unfortunately, it’s not a great update…which is part of what has been keeping me busy. I’ll post it soon.

In baby news…my sweet baby boy appears to have food allergies! Since I’m nursing, I am cutting out the likely allergens of dairy and soy from my diet….in addition to gluten, which I already have to avoid.

Did you know…..soy is in EVERYTHING?? Seriously.

And so….I may or may not be typing this one handed (baby asleep on the other hand) while rather…hungry.

But  this allergy thing explains why he is a fussy baby. We’ve never had a baby cry this much…and yet I KNOW it could be WAY worse. So he basically lives in my sling all day.

My sweet boy Ev has been good…he started preschool last week! His teacher says he plays all day and is adjusting well. I can’t believe he is in preschool already 🙁

Oh, and did I mention we are also dog sitting my parent’s two adorable Corgis for like, 7 weeks?

The cats (we have two) are not thrilled…

So…in the next few weeks I do have some posts planned..if I can find time to write them 😉 Including a couple reviews of some fun stuff!

Have a GREAT week!!

This book, Cure Your Child with Food by Kelly Dorfman, http://www.amazon.com/Cure-Your-Child-Food-Connection/dp/0761175830 (not so crazy about the new name) really helped me. It is written by a dietician, so not all crazy off the wall, but solid nutritionally. It does have a lot of food for thought and food nutritional connections that none of my doctors ever knew.

Excellent post, Katie. I know this feeling all too well. We just had baby #2 on 9/24 — two weeks early! — amid planning for my blog redesign! Still, I’m not juggling three like you are, so you are my hero. Hats off to you for balancing it all…
