Welcoming Our Newest Son

August 26, 2013 by Katie Filed Under: Family Life 4 Comments

Hello hello hello! It’s been a while since *I* have posted on the blog. I hope you all have been enjoying the last several weeks of guest posts (HUGE thanks to all my contributors!) as I enjoyed time with my family as well as finally welcoming our new son to the world!

On August 11th, 2013 at 4:20 am our son Emory Davrick finally made his grand entrance to the world at 40 weeks 5 days. 8 lbs 9.6 oz, 20.5 inches long.

We are so thrilled to have him here. He looks most like his big sister and like her at birth, looks more Chinese than Caucasian (my children are 1/4 Chinese). His birth was amazing…it was my first drug free/intervention free birth and the doctor almost did not make it! Fun times 😉 My husband, mother, and mother-in-law were all present and I’m thankful as I needed them!

It’s been two weeks and already Emory has been out to eat a few times, been to Costco, Target, the Zoo and two birthday parties! He prefers to stay curled up in my sling.

His big sister and big brother ADORE HIM! In fact, they fight over who gets to hold/touch him.

And this week, my husband goes back to work so I’m on my own! Any tips for me? My daughter starts preschool Thursday, so that will be a busy day for us! Wish me luck!

Keep a look out this week for some round up posts in case you missed anything the last few weeks! Until then, I’ll leave you with this sweet face…
