Just under 11 months ago my daughter E who was not yet two, started limping. 5 weeks later she was diagnosed with this silent disease called Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis. As we approach the one year mark of the beginning of her symptoms, we “celebrate” World Arthritis Day. I sent E to school today in her “Kids Get Arthritis Too” shirt. To support his big sister, Ev wore his too (although it’s about 3 sizes too big! HA!)

My Babies!

My sweet girl. Doesn't she deserve a cure?
Tonight, the Empire State Building will be lit up in BLUE for World Arthritis Day.
As I mentioned a few days ago, to celebrate World Arthritis Day, Massage Envy locations all over the country will be donating $10 from EVERY MASSAGE all day today to the Arthritis Foundation. E was chosen as an “honoree” for this event, so we will be heading down to our local Massage Envy this evening to take the massage therapists brownies to thank them for their hard work today.
And, I’m sporting BLUE today, for my daughter. As my Facebook Status said today (along with many other of my JA mama friends):
No pink ribbons.
No telethon.
No spokesperson.
No TV commercials.
Just 300,000 kids who suffer in silence daily.
Without a cure.
Please ‘Do Blue’ today for my daughter and all of the little heroes who live with Juvenile Arthritis. Kids Get Arthritis Too!!
Thanks for stopping by today! Planning on posting about a FUN activity to do along with the book The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid Of Anything next!
Cheers!
